F. Todd Wortham, DDS

Dr. Franklin Todd Wortham was born in Georgia but shortly thereafter moved to Alaska where he grew up. After working in the family tire business for several years out of high school, he set his sights on becoming a dentist. He attended Boise State University for his undergraduate studies and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2000. Dr. Wortham then returned to Alaska and opened a practice in Kenai, Alaska in 2000 and another practice in Boise, Idaho in 2004, practicing primarily in his Alaska office. In 2011 Dr. Wortham sold his practice in Kenai, Alaska and transitioned to Anchorage. This summer, Dr. Wortham opened a practice in Valdez and now splits time between the two.

Dr. Wortham enjoys road cycling, spending time with his family, and traveling. Technology and advances in dental medicine are of particular interest to him. He attends an abundance of advanced dental training every year. Dr. Wortham is a Fellow of the American Dental Implant Association, a certified Invisalign and Clear Correct provider, and a CEREC provider. Dr. Wortham has been a licensed general dentist since 2000. Dr Wortham has 4 children and 4 grandchildren.

Seth Jorgensen, DDS

Dr. Seth Jorgensen grew up in Iowa where he attended both Iowa State University and the University of Iowa. He graduated Iowa State University in 1996 with a B.S. in Zoology. After graduation, Jorgensen was accepted into the prestigious University of Iowa College of Dentistry, class of 2000. Since graduation, Dr. Jorgensen has practiced throughout Arizona until finding Carefree, AZ in 2003. He left Carefree in 2011 to spend more time with his family and to consult with struggling offices to bring them new life.

In the fall of 2012, his good friend and classmate, Dr. Todd Wortham, invited him to Anchorage to start an office from the ground up. A regular to Alaska in the summers to run the family fishing business, Dr. J jumped at the opportunity to work with his friend as well as spend more time in the state he loves.

Dr. Jorgensen is committed to lifelong education and improvement in the fields of dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Arizona Dental Association, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and Advanced CEREC training. His ongoing commitment to learning and improvement takes him to classes and seminars where emerging dental materials, methods and technology are evaluated and discussed. He applies what he learns to provide patients with the best long term results, durability and aesthetics with minimal discomfort.

Dr. Jorgensen’s practice philosophy is what he calls conservatively proactive to create occlusal harmony. By creating an equalized chewing occlusion to minimize stresses on any one tooth to prevent premature fractures, wear, and/or discomfort, happy health teeth are the results.

In his free time, Dr. Jorgensen enjoys many diverse hobbies. Since 1991, he has operated his family-owned commercial salmon fishing boat in Alaska. He and his family started the first recycling center in his hometown of Spencer, Iowa. He is a proficient skier and snowboarder who taught skiing at Sunrise Ski Park Resort in Pinetop, AZ. Dr. Jorgensen is an overall outdoor enthusiast who enjoys all activities from golf to hiking, camping to canoeing. His latest passion is vintage VW’s; has restored a 1963 VW “Combi” Single Cab pickup, and is working on 2 rare Type 34 European Karmen Ghia– less than 2000 of 20,000 remains.

Sarah

I was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. I knew I wanted a career as a dental hygienist before I graduated high school.

In 2005 I began my dental quest as a sterilization tech and chair side assistant. A few years later I moved to Klamath Falls, OR where I graduated with a BS in Dental Hygiene. I also met my future husband there, and together we moved back to Alaska in the spring of 2011.

I enjoy spending my spare time with my family and friends. We love to RV, boat, fish, hunt, ski, ride timber sleds. I also enjoy gardening, stained glass, and beach combing.

Kelsey

Kelsey started working in the dentistry field with her father, Dr. Wortham, in high-school part-time as a sterilization tech, later learning to assist, and eventually learning the reception side of the office.

Many years later, Kelsey still enjoys working but her three (soon to be four) children keep her quite busy with school activities, hockey practices, and dance.

She loves being a mom and spending her time with the family. You may not see her in the office much but she is committed to helping the team however she can.

Debbie

I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I moved to Alaska in 1996. I enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy camping, fishing, biking, Travel and playing games.

Vernice

Born in Arizona and raised in Montana, Vernice continued north to Alaska in 2011.

She started her dental career in 1984. “Even after 34 years, Dental is still my passion”. “I love what I do”.

Her hobbies include Quilting, enjoying her three children and eight grandchildren.

Tammy

I was born in Illinois and I grew up in Iowa with two older brothers. I received my college education in Arizona, where I also met my husband. After graduating with a degree in education, we were married and I returned to Alaska with him.

For the next 20 years, we raised and homeschooled our two children. When our youngest was in college, I decided I wanted to start a new chapter in my life. My interest in the dental field began at my 6-month exam and cleaning. My dentist was looking for an assistant and offered to train me on the job. I thought it sounded like fun and an amazing opportunity. Since then I have worked with many dentists as part-time and fill-in assistant.

I really enjoy some of the fun things we do here as a dental team, such as going into the schools to promote good oral health and working the water station for the Kenai River Marathon. If you need a friendly smile, please come and see me at Denali Family Dentistry.

I was born in Montana and moved to Kenai, Alaska in 1999, with my parents and brother. I graduated from KCHS in 2016 and started college shortly after that.

I grew up doing sports and dancing and still love both things very much. Now I support my nephews and niece at every activity they have. I coached softball at SoHi for two years and loved every second of it.

I love anything related to fitness. I became a certifited CrossFit L1 coach shortly after high school and continue to particioate in the sport. I have dedicated a lot of my life to fitness and am very thankful for it.

I just recently started my career in dental and am enjoying every second of it. I hope to be trained as a dental assistant later down the road.
